A program of sacred music performed by the Palestrina Choir of Dublin, Ireland, will be presented at 7:30 pm on Monday evening, April 13, at Washington’s St. Thomas Apostle Church. The one-hour program, presented free of charge, will include both a cappella and accompanied selections.
Under the leadership of director Blánaid Murphy, the Palestrina Choir has maintained its reputation as Ireland’s finest Catholic choir. The group’s Washington engagement will be the second of only two performances during its April visit to the United States, the other being an engagement at New York’s Carnegie Hall the previous Friday.
St. Thomas Apostle Church is located at 2665 Woodley Road in Woodley Park, one block up from the Woodley Road Metrorail and Metrobus stops at Connecticut Avenue.
