Candlemas TLM activities set at Alexandria St. Rita

The regularly scheduled 7:30 pm Traditional Latin Mass at St. Rita of Cascia Church in Alexandria this Tuesday evening, February 2, will be in observance of the feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also known as Candlemas. Mass will be preceded by the blessing of candles and a procession in honor of the Blessed Mother. All are welcome to bring candles to be blessed before Mass.

This Mass has been added to our seven-day schedule.

St. Rita of Cascia Church is located at 3815 Russell Road, just off Mount Vernon Avenue at the north end of the Del Ray neighborhood, and offers ample free parking.

Fr. Czarnota to offer Missa Cantata at Silver Spring

A Missa Cantata with schola will be offered Sunday morning, January 31, at the Traditional Latin Mass Congregation of Silver Spring, Maryland.  The celebrant of the Mass of Sexagesima Sunday will be Reverend Father Paul Czarnota of the Archdiocese of Detroit.

Holy Mass will begin at 8:00 am.  Confessions will be heard from 7:30 to 7:55 am.

Silver Spring TLM Congregation meets at the Historic Church of St. John the Evangelist, 9700 Rosensteel Avenue, Forest Glen.

Friday evening, Saturday morning TLMs set at Benedict St. Francis

On Friday evening, January 29, at 8:00 pm, a Traditional Latin Mass will be offered at St. Francis de Sales Church in Benedict, Maryland, in observance of the parish’s patronal feast day. A Traditional Latin Mass will also be offered on Saturday morning, January 30, at 8:00 am. These Masses have been added to our seven-day schedule.

St. Francis de Sales Church is located in Charles County about 45 minutes to an hour south of the Capital Beltway (I-95/495). Established in 1903, the parish has offered the Traditional Latin Mass every Sunday since the first Sunday of Advent 1989.

Georgetown TLM scheduled Friday evening at Copley Crypt Chapel

The Georgetown Traditional Latin Mass (Extraordinary Form) Community announces that a votive Missa Cantata for the Feast of St. Francis de Sales will be offered Friday evening, January 29, at 6:00 pm in Copley Crypt Chapel at Georgetown University. This Mass is being added to our seven-day schedule.

Copley Crypt Chapel is located at the rear of Copley Hall, immediately to the north of Healy Hall on the main campus of Georgetown University, 3700 O Street NW, Washington.

Fr. Carr to offer TLM on Monday afternoon, Saturday morning

The Traditional Latin Mass (Extraordinary Form) will be offered on Monday afternoon and Saturday morning of this week by Reverend Father Richard Carr at St. Michael Church, 7401 St. Michael’s Lane, Annandale.

On Monday afternoon, January 25, at 5:00 pm, Low Mass of the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul will be offered (note the later time in anticipation of improved road conditions).  Low Mass of the Feast of St. Martina will be offered at 7:00 am on Saturday morning, January 30.

Please note that these Masses are scheduled at the discretion of the celebrant, and are not part of the parish’s published Mass calendar. These Masses have been added to our seven-day schedule.

Our Lady’s Center schedules Tuesday evening TLM, potluck

On Tuesday, January 26, at 6:30 pm, a Low Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady’s Center, 3301 Rogers Avenue, Ellicott City, Maryland. A potluck dinner will follow in the Center’s conference room. Everyone is invited to attend.

Reverend Father Canisius Tah, associate pastor of the Church of the Resurrection in Ellicott City, will be the celebrant. This Mass is being added to our seven-day schedule.

Silver Spring TLM cancelled Sunday due to weather

The Traditional Latin Mass Congregation of Silver Spring has announced that the Mass scheduled to be offered on Sunday, January 24, at Old St. John the Evangelist Church in Forest Glen, has been canceled because of anticipated poor road conditions, access, and parking due to this weekend’s winter storm.

We have just been informed that the time of the fourth annual Nellie Gray Mass, which was scheduled to be offered at 4:00 pm on Friday, January 22, at Washington’s St. Mary Mother of God Church, has been cancelled advanced to 3:00 pm because of the heavy snow forecast for the area.

Storm forecast forces Saturday TLM cancellation at Annandale St. Michael

The Traditional Latin Mass (Extraordinary Form) that was scheduled to be offered this Saturday by Reverend Father Richard Carr at St. Michael Church in Annandale has been cancelled. Because of the heavy snow forecast, it is anticipated that snow removal activities in the parking lot will impede access to the church.
