Solemn High Mass in the Extraordinary Form for the Fourth Sunday after Easter will be offered at 12:30 pm this Sunday, April 29, at Holy Trinity Church, 8213 Linton Hall Road, Gainesville, Virginia. Celebrant of the Mass will be Reverend Father Josef Bisig fssp, co-founder and first superior of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter. Gregorian chant and polyphony will be provided by the Holy Trinity schola.
After Mass, Fr. Bisig will give a talk at 2:00 in which he will recount the events and personalities leading up to the issuance of the encyclical Ecclesia Dei by Pope St. John Paul II in 1988, which helped to establish the Fraternity and paved the way for the issuance of Summorum Pontificum by Pope Benedict XVI in 2007. Both the Mass and Fr. Bisig’s talk are open to all who wish to attend.
Holy Trinity Church is located in Prince William County, Virginia, about four and a half miles south of the intersection of Interstate 66 and U.S. Route 29. Ample free parking is available.
