The London Oratory Junior Choir will be touring Venice this coming October singing two Masses and a Concert. See the poster for details:
Three special Traditional Latin Mass events will be held this coming weekend at St. Francis de Sales Church in Benedict, Maryland:
- On Friday evening, June 5, at 7:00 pm, there will be a Traditional Mass for the First Friday in June, followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. After Mass and Adoration, there will be light refreshments in the rectory.
- On Saturday morning, June 6, at 8:00 am, there will be a Traditional Latin Mass followed by light refreshments.
- The regular Sunday morning TLM at 11:00 am on June 7 will be a Missa Cantata. Sunday’s 9:00 am Ordinary Form Mass will be followed by a Eucharistic procession in honor of the external solemnity of Corpus Christi.
These Masses have been added to our seven-day schedule.
St. Francis de Sales Church is located in Charles County about 45 minutes to an hour south of the Capital Beltway (I-95/495). Established in 1903, the parish has offered the Traditional Latin Mass every Sunday since the first Sunday of Advent 1989.
A program of sacred music performed by the Palestrina Choir of Dublin, Ireland, will be presented at 7:30 pm on Monday evening, April 13, at Washington’s St. Thomas Apostle Church. The one-hour program, presented free of charge, will include both a cappella and accompanied selections.
Under the leadership of director Blánaid Murphy, the Palestrina Choir has maintained its reputation as Ireland’s finest Catholic choir. The group’s Washington engagement will be the second of only two performances during its April visit to the United States, the other being an engagement at New York’s Carnegie Hall the previous Friday.
St. Thomas Apostle Church is located at 2665 Woodley Road in Woodley Park, one block up from the Woodley Road Metrorail and Metrobus stops at Connecticut Avenue.
The Southern Maryland chapter of Juventutem will be sponsoring Christmas caroling around the town of Benedict, Maryland, on Sunday afternoon, December 7.
Everyone wishing to participate is invited to meet at St. Francis de Sales Church, 7185 Benedict Avenue, at 8:00 pm to practice the carols. Caroling will be followed by dinner either at the rectory or at the church hall nearby.
