A couple of updates to the site

In response to the kind requests of our readers, we have added a new page of Masses that are offered outside of the immediate commuting area (which we define as within one hour of the Capital Beltway).

You are invited to submit a request via the (also new) event news page if you’d like us to add a Mass that you don’t see on our lists, or if you’d like to share any other traditional-liturgy-related event of interest to our readers.

Updated: 1 FSSP priest slain, 1 wounded in Phoenix burglary

Tuesday 12-Jun-2014 04:30 pm EDT: At the time of the incident, Fr. Terra was able to call 911 for help.  A representative of the Diocese of Phoenix is reported to have said that Fr. Terra was also able to grant absolution and administer last rites to Fr. Walker before the latter’s death.  Although the vehicle believed to have been used by the assailants has been found, no suspects have yet been identified.

Tuesday 12-Jun-2014 09:30 am EDT: The slain priest has been identified as Fr. Kenneth Walker FSSP, 29. Mater Misericordiae Mission pastor Fr. Joseph Terra FSSP was the other priest found injured (but not shot, as originally reported) at the crime scene.

Tuesday 12-Jun-2014 07:50 am EDT: Via local news reports, we are informed that two priests were found wounded by gunfire on the night of Wednesday, June 11, at the Mater Misericordiae Mission of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter in downtown Phoenix, Arizona.

One of the priests, age 56, is reported to have been transported to an area hospital where his condition is said to be critical.  The other priest, age 26, is reported to have died from his wounds at a local hospital.
