A Low Mass will be offered Sunday, April 19, at the Traditional Latin Mass Congregation of Silver Spring, Maryland. Reverend Father Jacob Straub of the Diocese of Covington, Kentucky, will be the celebrant of the Mass of the Second Sunday after Easter (Good Shepherd Sunday).

Holy Mass will begin at 8:00 am.  Confessions will be heard from 7:30 to 7:55 am.

Fr. Straub to conduct Good Friday services at Silver Spring

Good Friday services will be held at midday on Friday, April 3, at the Traditional Latin Mass Congregation of Silver Spring, Maryland. Reverend Father Jacob Straub of the Diocese of Covington will lead Stations of the Cross at 12:15 pm, followed by the Sacred Liturgy of Good Friday at 1:00 pm. Confessions will be heard beginning at 11:00 am.

Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian announces Annunciation TLM

A Solemn High Mass in observance of the Feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated at Washington’s Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian Church on Capitol Hill this coming Wednesday evening, March 25, at 7:30 pm. Reverend Father Jacob Straub will be the celebrant of the Mass. Music will be provided by the choir and schola of St. Luke’s Ordinariate Community.

This Mass has been added to our seven-day schedule.

A Missa Cantata with schola will be offered Sunday, March 22, at the Traditional Latin Mass Congregation of Silver Spring, Maryland. Reverend Father Jacob Straub of the Diocese of Covington, Kentucky, will be the celebrant of the Mass of Passion Sunday.

A Missa Cantata with schola will be offered Sunday, November 23, at the Traditional Latin Mass Congregation of Silver Spring, Maryland. Father Jacob Straub of the Diocese of Covington, Kentucky, will be the celebrant of the Mass of the 24th and Last Sunday after Pentecost.

Holy Mass will begin at 8:00 am.  Confessions will be heard from 7:30 to 7:55 am.  A second collection will be taken up on behalf of the Society of Christ Fathers for Poles Living Abroad, which administers the parish of Our Lady Queen of Poland and St. Maximilian Kolbe. Besides serving the Polish-speaking Catholic community in the area, this parish makes its church building available every Sunday for the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass in Silver Spring.

Blessed Karl of Austria feast day Solemn High Mass set at Old St. Mary’s

A Solemn High Mass for the feast day of Blessed Karl of Austria, Emperor and King, will be offered at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at St. Mary Mother of God Church, 727 5th Street NW, Washington, home of the first shrine dedicated to Blessed Karl in the Washington area.

The celebrant of the Mass will be Fr. James Bradley of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, assisted by deacon Fr. Jacob Straub, subdeacon Fr. Tyron Tomson, and homilist Fr. Richard Mullins.  Music will be provided by St. Mary’s Schola and by the polyphonic choir Musikanten, directed by Kerry Krebill.  A first-class relic of Blessed Karl will be displayed for veneration.

After the Mass a reception will be held at Market-to-Market Café across 5th Street from St. Mary’s.  Speakers at the reception will include His Imperial and Royal Highness, The Prince Imperial of Brazil, Dom Bertrand of Orléans-Braganza; Daniela Petchik, leader of Juventutem DC; and Catholic apologist Raymond de Souza.
