Wednesday evening TLM, devotions set at Benedict St. Francis

A Traditional Latin Mass will be celebrated by Reverend Father Kevin Cusick at St. Francis de Sales Church in Benedict, Maryland, at 7:00 pm on Wednesday evening, January 20.

Mass will be preceded at 6:00 pm by Eucharistic Adoration and confessions. After Mass, novena devotions to St. Peregrine, patron saint of cancer sufferers, will be held, including healing prayers and veneration of the saint’s relic. This Mass has been added to our seven-day calendar.

St. Francis de Sales Church is located in Charles County, Maryland, approximately 45 minutes to an hour from the Capital Beltway via Maryland Routes 5 and 231, and offers ample free parking.

Two special Traditional Latin Masses will be celebrated this coming weekend at St. Francis de Sales Church in Benedict, Maryland:

  • On Friday evening, November 6, at 7:00 pm, there will be a Traditional Mass for the First Friday in November, followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
  • On Saturday morning, November 7, there will be a Traditional Latin Mass at 8:00 am.

Benedict Francis de Sales sets patronal feast TLM for Thursday evening 1/29

To celebrate the traditional feast day of the parish’s patron saint, the Traditional Latin Mass will be celebrated at 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 29, by Reverend Father Kevin Cusick at St. Francis de Sales Church, 7185 Benedict Avenue, Benedict, Maryland. This Mass has been added to our seven-day schedule.

Immediately following Mass, Juventutem will sponsor a gaudeamus reception in the parish rectory. All Mass attendees are welcome to attend and to bring a food item to the reception.

Special New Year’s week Masses set for Benedict St. Francis de Sales

Two special offerings of the Traditional Latin Mass will be celebrated on January 1 and 2 by Father Kevin Cusick at St. Francis de Sales Church, 7185 Benedict Avenue, Benedict, Maryland:

  • Mass will be offered for the Octave of the Nativity of Our Lord (Circumcision) on Thursday evening, January 1, at 8:00 pm. The faithful are reminded that January 1 is a Holy Day of Obligation, on which all Catholics are required to attend Mass unless lawfully impeded.
  • A First Friday Mass will be offered at 7:00 pm on January 2. There will be Eucharistic Adoration immediately after Mass, followed by light refreshments.

  • A First Friday Mass will be offered at 7:00 pm on December 5. There will be Eucharistic Adoration immediately after Mass, followed by a pot luck dinner in the church hall.
  • Mass will be offered for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on Monday, December 8, at 8:00 pm. The faithful are reminded that the Feast of the Immaculate Conception is a Holy Day of Obligation, on which all Catholics are obliged to attend Mass unless lawfully impeded.

  • Mass will be offered for the Feast of All Saints on Saturday, November 1, at 8:00 am.
  • On Monday, November 3, the transferred commemoration of All Souls will be observed with a Mass at noon.
  • A First Friday Mass will be celebrated at 7:00 pm on November 7. Eucharistic Adoration will follow immediately after Mass.

Assumption Missa Cantata to be offered at Benedict St. Francis de Sales

On Friday, August 15, at 8:00 pm, a Missa Cantata for the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Kevin Cusick at St. Francis de Sales Church, 7185 Benedict Avenue, Benedict, Maryland.

The faithful are reminded that the feast of the Assumption is a holy day of obligation.  As on Sundays, Catholics are obliged to assist at Holy Mass on that day.
