Fr. Fields ordination anniversary to be marked Saturday with Missa Solemnis at St. Thomas Apostle

The 30th anniversary of the ordination of Reverend Father Stephen Fields sj will be celebrated this Saturday evening, June 15, at 7:00 pm with a Solemn High Mass at Washington’s St. Thomas Apostle Church. A reception will follow in the parish hall.

Father Fields entered the Society of Jesus at Wernersville, Pennsylvania, in 1977. He was ordained a deacon in 1985 and a priest the following year. Since 2000, Fr. Fields has served as Associate Professor of Philosophy of Religion and Systematic Theology at Georgetown University, where he is also the chaplain of the university’s Traditional Latin Mass Community. He is currently a member of the Louvain Studies International Advisory Board and of the Academy of Catholic Theology.

St. Thomas Apostle Church is located at 2665 Woodley Road in Washington, one block up Woodley Road from the Woodley Park Metrorail and Metrobus stops at Connecticut Avenue. Limited street parking is available.

Special Corpus Christi TLM scheduled at Georgetown Copley Crypt Chapel

The Georgetown Traditional Latin Mass (Extraordinary Form) Community has announced a special Traditional Mass for the Feast of Corpus Christi. A Missa Cantata will be offered Thursday evening, May 4, at 7:00 pm in Copley Crypt Chapel at Georgetown University by Reverend Father Stephen Fields SJ.

This Mass has been added to our seven-day schedule.

Final TLM of semester scheduled at G’town Copley Crypt Chapel

The Georgetown Traditional Latin Mass (Extraordinary Form) Community has announced its final Traditional Mass of the Spring 2015 semester. A Missa Cantata will be offered Friday evening, May 1, at 6:30 pm in Copley Crypt Chapel at Georgetown University by Reverend Father Stephen Fields SJ.

St. William Chapel is located directly above Copley Crypt in Copley Hall, immediately to the north of Healy Hall on the main campus of Georgetown University, 3700 O Street NW, Washington. Attendees are advised of the change to St. William Chapel from the usual location of Copley Crypt Chapel.  A staircase to the right of Copley Crypt, at the rear of Copley Hall, leads upstairs to St. William Chapel.
