The 30th anniversary of the ordination of Reverend Father Stephen Fields sj will be celebrated this Saturday evening, June 15, at 7:00 pm with a Solemn High Mass at Washington’s St. Thomas Apostle Church. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
Father Fields entered the Society of Jesus at Wernersville, Pennsylvania, in 1977. He was ordained a deacon in 1985 and a priest the following year. Since 2000, Fr. Fields has served as Associate Professor of Philosophy of Religion and Systematic Theology at Georgetown University, where he is also the chaplain of the university’s Traditional Latin Mass Community. He is currently a member of the Louvain Studies International Advisory Board and of the Academy of Catholic Theology.
St. Thomas Apostle Church is located at 2665 Woodley Road in Washington, one block up Woodley Road from the Woodley Park Metrorail and Metrobus stops at Connecticut Avenue. Limited street parking is available.
