Solemn High TLM for Fátima centenary set at Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun at Fátima, a Solemn High Traditional Latin Mass will be offered at 7:30 pm this Friday evening, October 13, at Washington’s Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian Church. Musical accompaniment, including polyphonic works by Byrd and Palestrina, will be provided by the vocal group Chantry. All are invited to attend.

Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian announces Missa Solemnis for All Souls’ Day

A Solemn High Mass of Requiem for the Commemoration of All Souls will be offered at 7:30 pm on Monday evening, November 2, at Washington’s Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian Church. The vocal group Chantry will sing the Officium Defunctoris 1605 by Tomás Luis de Victoria.

D.C. St. Francis de Sales announces Assumption TLM

The Traditional Latin Mass (Extraordinary Form) in observance of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated in the convent chapel of Washington’s St. Francis de Sales Church this coming Saturday morning, August 15, at 8:00 am. Reverend Father Brian Sanderfoot will be the celebrant of the Mass.

St. Francis de Sales Church is located at 2015 Rhode Island Avenue NE, about a mile from Catholic University and from the Brookland station of Metrorail’s Red Line. The convent in the chapel of which Mass will be celebrated is located at the rear of the parking lot, immediately inside and to the right of the parking lot entrance from St. Francis de Sales Place NE.

Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian announces Transfiguration TLM

A Solemn High Mass in observance of the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord will be celebrated at Washington’s Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian Church this coming Thursday evening, August 6, at 7:30 pm. Reverend Father James Bradley of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham will be the celebrant of the Mass, assisted by deacon Reverend Father Paul Scalia of the Diocese of Arlington and subdeacon Reverend Father Daniel Richards of the Diocese of Harrisburg.

Both propers and Ordinary will be sung in Gregorian chant. This Mass has been added to our seven-day schedule.

A Missa Cantata in observance of the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus will be celebrated at Washington’s Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian Church this coming Friday morning, June 12, at 8:00 am. Reverend Father James Bradley will be the celebrant of the Mass.

A Solemn High Mass in observance of the Ember Saturday in the Octave of Pentecost will be celebrated at Washington’s Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian Church on Capitol Hill this coming Saturday morning, May 30, at 9:00 am. Reverend Father James Bradley will be the homilist of the Mass. The mass will include both propers and Ordinary in Gregorian chant.

Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian announces Annunciation TLM

A Solemn High Mass in observance of the Feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated at Washington’s Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian Church on Capitol Hill this coming Wednesday evening, March 25, at 7:30 pm. Reverend Father Jacob Straub will be the celebrant of the Mass. Music will be provided by the choir and schola of St. Luke’s Ordinariate Community.

Saturday Solemn Vespers, Benediction set at Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian

Solemn Vespers followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be held at Washington’s Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian Church on Saturday, November 15, at 7:00 pm.

Father James Bradley of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham will be the celebrant. The musical accompaniment will be Claudio Monteverdi’s 1610 Vespers, performed by the Third Practice vocal ensemble with Gregorian antiphons sung by Chorus Sine Nomine under the direction of Brian Bartoldus. Included in the program will be a newly commissioned setting of the Litany of Saints by Dr. Joshua Bornfield.
