Ascension Thursday TLM set at Silver Spring

A Low Mass will be offered this Thursday morning, May 14, at the Traditional Latin Mass Congregation of Silver Spring, Maryland. Reverend Father Aidan Logan OCSO, Director of Vocations for the Archdiocese of the Military Services, will be the celebrant of the Mass of the Feast of the Ascension.

Holy Mass will begin at 10:00 am.  Confessions will be heard from 9:30 to 9:55 am.

Msgr. Olszyk to be celebrant, then honoree at Silver Spring TLM

A Missa Cantata with choir will be offered on Sunday, September 7, at the Traditional Latin Mass Congregation of Silver Spring, Maryland. Monsignor Thomas Olszyk of the Diocese of Milwaukee, formerly Judicial Vicar of the Archdiocese of the Military Services, will be the celebrant of the Mass of the 13th Sunday after Pentecost. Holy Mass will begin at 8:00 am; Confessions will be heard from 7:30 to 7:55 am.

Silver Spring TLM Congregation meets at the Historic Church of St. John the Evangelist, 9700 Rosensteel Avenue, Forest Glen.  After this Sunday’s Mass, all of the congregation are invited to gather at the Knights of Columbus Hall across the street from the Church for their Sunday breakfast, where there will be a special cake and celebration for Msgr. Olszyk and his service to the congregation for the past eight years. The price of the Knights of Columbus breakfast buffet is $9 per person age 11 years and up, $5 per child age 4-10, and $2 per child under age 4.

 

Msgr. Olszyk to offer his final pre-departure TLM at Silver Spring

Monsignor Thomas Olszyk, Judicial Vicar of the Archdiocese of the Military Services, will celebrate Mass of the Second Sunday after Pentecost on June 22, at the Traditional Latin Mass Congregation of Silver Spring, Maryland.  As announced previously, Sunday’s will be the last TLM that Msgr. Olszyk will offer in Silver Spring before he moves away from Washington, D.C.

Msgr. Olszyk to offer 2 final TLMs at Silver Spring before leaving D.C.

Monsignor Thomas Olszyk, Judicial Vicar of the Archdiocese of the Military Services, will soon retire from the military tribunal and move away from Washington, D.C.

Before his departure, Msgr. Olszyk will celebrate two Masses at the Traditional Latin Mass Congregation of Silver Spring, Maryland.  On Sunday, June 15, the Low Mass of Trinity Sunday is scheduled, while a Missa Cantata of the Second Sunday after Pentecost is scheduled to be offered on Sunday, June 22.

On both Sundays, Holy Mass will begin at 8:00 am, and Confessions will be heard from 7:30 to 7:55 am.

Missa Cantata of Easter Sunday with schola will be celebrated April 20 at the Traditional Latin Mass Congregation of Silver Spring, Maryland.  The celebrant will be Monsignor Thomas Olszyk, Judicial Vicar of the Archdiocese of the Military Services.

Holy Mass will begin at 8:00 am.  Confessions will be heard from 7:30 to 7:55 am.

Traditional Good Friday services scheduled at Silver Spring TLM

Good Friday services in the Traditional Form of the Roman Rite will be conducted this Friday, April 18, at the Traditional Latin Mass Congregation of Silver Spring, Maryland.

Monsignor Thomas Olszyk, Judicial Vicar of the Archdiocese of the Military Services, will lead the Stations of the Cross at 11:30 am, followed by the traditional Good Friday liturgy at noon.  Confessions will be heard from 10:45 to 11:30 am.

During the Good Friday liturgy, an Archdiocesan scheduled collection will be taken up for the benefit of the Church in the Holy Land.

Early Palm Sunday start set for Silver Spring TLM

A Missa Cantata with choir will be offered this Sunday, April 13, at the Traditional Latin Mass Congregation of Silver Spring, Maryland. Monsignor Thomas Olszyk, Judicial Vicar of the Archdiocese of the Military Services, will be the celebrant of the Mass of Palm Sunday.

Because the Palm Sunday liturgy is slightly longer than that of most other Sundays, Holy Mass will begin at 7:50 am, ten minutes before the usual start time.  Confessions will be heard from 7:20 to 7:45 am.

Quinquagesima, Ash Wednesday Masses set for Silver Spring

A Low Mass will be offered this Sunday, March 2, at the Traditional Latin Mass Congregation of Silver Spring, Maryland.  Fr. Phillip Cozzi, Chaplain and Assistant Principal of Bishop Denis O’Connell High School in Arlington, will be the celebrant of the Mass of Quinquagesima.

Holy Mass will begin Sunday at 8:00 a.m.  Confessions will be heard from 7:30 to 7:55 a.m.

Ash Wednesday Mass will be offered and ashes distributed at the Silver Spring TLM Congregation at 10:00 a.m. this Wednesday, March 5, by Msgr. Thomas Olszyk.  Confessions will be heard one half hour before Holy Mass.
